R. Brett Thomas is a two-time Emmy® nominated film & television editor based in Los Angeles, CA.
He is best known for editing the Orion Pictures scripted feature film, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, starring Academy Award nominee Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Riki Lindhome (Wednesday), Chloe East (The Fablemans), and Jim Cummings (Thunder Road). The film received a nation-wide theatrical release and is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
Born and raised in Savannah, GA, Brett grew up with a passion for fine art and cinema. He studied film production at the University of Alabama before moving to Los Angeles. Brett started in the creative services department at WME (William Morris Endeavor) and then became a promo editor for Sony Pictures. After that, he shifted his focus to editing long form film & television and has built a career transitioning seamlessly between scripted & documentary projects. Brett’s work has premiered at renowned festivals such as SXSW & Tribeca, and can be seen on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max, ESPN, and many more.
Recently, he edited The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping a Netflix mini series, executive produced by Academy Award winners Melanie Miller and Diane Becker. The Program became the #1 TV show on Netflix in March 2024.
He is currently editing a new unannounced Netflix series with Amblin Entertainment.
Brett lives in the Valley with his wife, two kids, and a couple cats. He is a member of the Television Academy and available for union work through the Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700).
